Trenchless Pipe Lining (CIPP) in Northeast Ohio

Sewer backing up, or a camera inspection showing cracks, offset joints, or root intrusion? Cured-in-place pipe lining (CIPP) gives you a brand-new pipe inside the old one — no trench, no torn-up driveway, and your line back in service in under 48 hours. Harner Plumbing installs CIPP sewer liners for homes and businesses across Northeast Ohio: Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, Hudson, Twinsburg, Aurora, Solon, Streetsboro, Chagrin Falls, and the surrounding Summit, Portage, Geauga, and Cuyahoga County communities.

How CIPP Sewer Pipe Lining Works

We clean the line first — usually with hydro-jetting — and run a camera to map every crack, joint, and branch connection. Then a flexible liner saturated with resin is pulled into the existing pipe, inflated so it presses against the host pipe, and cured in place with LED light.

What's left is a seamless, jointless pipe that fixes cracks, breaks, separations, trench rot, and badly pitted cast iron in PVC, cast-iron, clay, and Orangeburg lines — without digging up your yard, driveway, or basement floor.

Utilizing The Hammerhead Blue Light System

At the forefront of our lining service is the Hammerhead Blue Light system. This cutting-edge system utilizes Bluelight LED Flex Liner, a synthetic polyester impregnated with resin, to create durable and long-lasting pipe liners. The adaptability of the Blue Light system allows for seamless installation in pipes ranging from 3” to 10” in diameter, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

LED curing is faster and cooler than steam or hot-water cure, which is how we get most residential liners done in a single visit.

Reinstate Branch Lines with Ease… and More Advantages

One of the key advantages of CIPP lining is its ability to reinstate branch lines using advanced robotic cutting technology. With the Dancutter Super Flex Robotic cutter, branch lines can be reinstated with precision, even in areas that are otherwise inaccessible. This flexibility ensures that the entire pipeline system is restored to optimal functionality without the need for extensive excavation or disruption.

One of the most significant benefits of CIPP lining is its ability to minimize disruption to landscapes, roadways, and structures. Unlike traditional excavation methods, CIPP lining requires minimal digging, reducing the impact on surrounding environments and infrastructure.

By eliminating the need for extensive excavation, CIPP lining significantly reduces costs associated with restoration, labor, and material. Most installations can be completed in less than 48 hours from cleaning to the finished product, further reducing downtime and expenses.

The resilient material used in CIPP lining enhances the structural integrity of the existing host pipe, providing corrosion resistance and extending the life of the pipe. With a seamless and durable liner in place, the pipeline is better equipped to withstand the demands of everyday use and environmental factors.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will a newly lined pipe last?

In most cases, the pipes can be relied on to function for up to 20 years or even longer.

What types of subsurface pipes can be repaired?

Concrete, PVC, cast iron, clay, and most other commonly encountered piping materials are generally good candidates for lining services. Liners are also available to accommodate a wide range of pipe diameters.

How long will my sewer line be out of service after trenchless pipe lining?

Your system's downtime will be determined by the installation time and the curing time of the new liner. The curing time can be as short as a few hours or as long as a day.

Are there any situations where trenchless pipe lining can't be used?

Trenchless pipe lining is not suitable for pipes that have experienced significant settling and separation or that have been completely crushed.

What is cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining?

CIPP is a trenchless method that creates a new pipe inside your existing one. A resin-saturated liner is inserted through an existing access point, inflated against the old pipe wall, and cured hard with LED light. The result is a smooth, jointless pipe with no digging.

How much does sewer pipe lining cost compared with replacement?

Lining is priced by the foot and depends on diameter, depth, and how much cleaning the pipe needs. It is typically less than excavation and replacement once you include restoring lawns, driveways, and floors, and it is done in one or two days instead of a week. We quote after a camera inspection so the number is firm.

Is pipe lining or pipe bursting better for my sewer line?

Lining is best when the pipe is cracked or leaking but still holds its shape. Pipe bursting replaces the old pipe entirely and is the trenchless option when sections have collapsed or the line is badly undersized. The camera inspection decides it — we will show you the footage and explain both options.

Will pipe lining stop tree roots from coming back?

Yes. Roots enter through cracks and joints. A cured liner is a single continuous pipe with no joints, so there is no entry point. It is the permanent solution for a line that needs root cutting every year.
